Envirox offers a range of replacement filters for their supplied range of dust collectors and are proud to announce that they now offer candle filters for high temperature applications.
Candle Filters
Dust collectors used for dedusting flue gases during the combustion of solid fuels in combustion sources use candle filters as the preferred filtering medium. Candle filters are an alternative approach for removing fine particles. They are suspended in the flow stream like a candle, and like baghouse filters the gas will flow through them forming a cake on the surface which is backflushed to remove the trapped materials. These filters are used to handle high temperatures and certain chemical contents of dust, that cannot be handled by filter bags and filter cartridges.
Candle filter elements are suitable for temperatures of 1000°C or more, and to remove particles, acids and heavy metals and dioxins from flue gases. They can achieve high yield and produce dried filter cakes, while filtering flammable, toxic and corrosive mediums. These filters are designed to be used in harsh environments and can be automatically recycled and filtered without stopping and causing unnecessary downtime.
These pressure filters are either ceramic or metal rods and are arranged vertically inside the filter housing with the outlet positioned in the upper part of the filter. The dust is separated on the outer surface of the candles and the through flushing with pulses of compressed air according to a cycle while operation takes place, the filter candles can be regenerated.
Envirox, supplier of quality dust collectors and filters, understands the need of having the option to use different filters within different industries and for various types of material collection. Now offering the option of a candle filter, Envirox provides the potential of handling high temperatures and corrosive, toxic material without the worry.
